Intro

    Hello! My name is Isabella Franjione, but you can all call me Bella. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have a puppy named Macho and two older brothers who are out of college. Growing up, sports were my entire life. I played softball, basketball, dance, gymnastics, swim, volleyball, and anything my school had that I could participate in. Eventually, I narrowed it down to volleyball and basketball, which are two club teams here at UT that I am interested in playing on. I really enjoy reading, shooting hoops, or going out with my friends in my free time. I am also a huge coffee lover, and I am the type of person who is always down for any adventure.     

    I chose UT because I always knew since my freshman year of high school that I wanted to go south. I did not even tour UT because of covid, but I did see it virtually and absolutely loved it. It's the perfect size for me, and I have been loving every minute since I have been here. I am a biology major, as in high school, biology was that class that naturally came to me. I am actually not pre-med, and my future plans are to get into medical research. I guess you could say that I do have a science and math brain. I am excited for this class, but also a little nervous because I am a perfectionist. If I lose my project somehow, I know I would be upset. I took a course in high school that was somewhat similar to this one that was called 3D modeling and that class was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to this semester!

  Estimated time to complete: 1 hour               My initial inspiration for this project was that I feel like sometimes I have my head in the clouds. I feel like I am a daydreamer, and I always find myself staring into "space." When I do catch myself staring into space, I like to think about aliens. I have always though aliens were so cool and we barely know what life exists on our planet, so I definitely do feel like there has to be some form of life on other planets. Business cards

Business card 1 (front to back): Business card 2 (front to back): Business card 3 (front to back):          Estimated time to complete: 2 hours          For my business cards, I decided to do three different color versions all with my three different color logos with colors that I chose because I think they are aesthetically pleasing. I really enjoyed doing this project because now that I am so familiar with photoshop and illustrator, a lot of the tools are the same or very similar in indesign. I had to use many different tools, such as the frame tool to put my logo in every page, many different layers so I could keep track of all my backgrounds, text, and images, and also the rectangle tool to create my backgrounds. I also played with the opacity for mainly the backs of my business cards by turning down the opacity, so it looks like the back of a business card.           For my first business card, I really wanted to use the idea that the words were kind of shooting out of the needle

Self Portrait Propaganda

  Total time for completion: about 4 hours      The basic idea of my self portrait was to display a happy image of myself by using and combining different shapes and tools in adobe illustrator. The idea that I chose for the propaganda aspect of the project was “stop and smell the roses,” because I think it is important to enjoy life while you are living it. Some tools I had to use for this project include the shape builder tool, which helped me combine shapes to create the look that I wanted, and it also helped me create the shadow on my face. I wanted to include my freckles in the portrait because I feel like they are an important aspect of who I am, and they make me, me. As far as the propaganda goes, this saying is important to me because I tend to get really caught up in the hard work of life, that I forget to enjoy it.
