Spot healing brush tool:     This tool was very intriguing to me because I feel like this is one that is often used in this program. I think this tool will be pretty easy to use because all you have to do is place it over the thing that you would want to remove from the image. The computer does the work for you, as it will look at the pixels surrounding what you are removing in order to fill that space. I might use this tool if there is a mistake or something that I want to remove or touch up from an image I am working with. I feel like this tool will be very useful to me. I found it interesting how they had to select "content-aware" before using the tool because that way the computer will recognize what is surrounding the content we are trying to get rid of.  Straighten tool:     I really enjoyed this video because sometimes when I take pictures, I don't have the perfect angle and I hate when my images are crooked, so this tool is interesting. I think this tool...

Self Portrait Propaganda

Image
Total time for completion: about 4 hours      The basic idea of my self portrait was to display a happy image of myself by using and combining different shapes and tools in adobe illustrator. The idea that I chose for the propaganda aspect of the project was “stop and smell the roses,” because I think it is important to enjoy life while you are living it. Some tools I had to use for this project include the shape builder tool, which helped me combine shapes to create the look that I wanted, and it also helped me create the shadow on my face. I wanted to include my freckles in the portrait because I feel like they are an important aspect of who I am, and they make me, me. As far as the propaganda goes, this saying is important to me because I tend to get really caught up in the hard work of life, that I forget to enjoy it. I really tend to forget to just have fun and enjoy life because I am too focused on schoolwork or what I need to do everyday to be successful. ...

Logo Project

Image
Estimated completion time: 2 hours This logo represents the inner me, as I designed my logo to be a needle that is representing a vaccine with fire coming out of it. The vaccine portion of the logo represents how I want to get into a career that deals with medical research in my future. Also, it reminds me of mini-THON, which my high school back home participated in that was an event to raise money for kids with cancer. I was very involved and hold this event close to my heart. The fire coming out of the needle is representing how passionate I am about the things I care about. I strongly believe that a life lived without passion is just boring. I have a fire lit within me, and it also applies to how much I want to go into medical research as well because it is a personal connection for me. Before my grandma had passed away last year, the doctors could never diagnose her and we still don’t technically know what sickness she had. This lit that fire within me to get a career in medi...

Calligram Project

My letter:  Dear Bella,  I hope all is going well with everything now that it’s been a whole twenty years. I hope that you are enjoying your career, no matter what field it is in because I know you are struggling with that decision as of right now. I really just hope that no matter where you are and what you are doing, you are just happy with your life. Live it up because you will never be this young again (even though this is twenty years from now and you are only 18 as you are typing this letter at the Starbucks on campus). Life is too short and you never know when your last day is, so treat every single day when you wake up as if it is your last.  As of right now, life is really good for you. You get to go to college in Florida, just like you always dreamed of doing, and it really is everything that you dreamed of and more. I’m not sure how life could really get any better than this, but for your sake, I hope it does of course. There’s no need to check the w...

Adobe Illustrator Videos / Reactions

The Paint Brush Tool     I think that the paint brush tool is going to be easy to use, especially because you can set how smooth you want the lines to be. I would definitely use this tool a lot if I wanted to create something with neat lines that are not jagged or rough. I enjoyed this video, and I really like that there are so many different options for how to manipulate the lines you are drawing. It was interesting to me that if you draw on the tablet, the program can change the thickness of the line according to how hard you press down on the screen. I am excited to use this tool, and I know I will find it to be very useful.  The Lasso Tool     I really enjoyed this tool because it looks simple to use. The lasso tool can be used to select certain items on your screen and you can select more or less items as well, once you have selected something. It was interesting to me that all you have to do is click and drag. I am definitely excited to use this too...
